We’re a community-rooted science and physics academy on a mission to make STEM education accessible, joyful, and empowering for Black children and youth.
Creating opportunities where representation is still growing.
African American girls continue to be underrepresented in STEM and aerospace careers. G.E.M.S. was created to help change that story by giving girls the tools, experiences, mentorship, and encouragement they need to see themselves in these fields.
From their earliest years through high school, we help girls discover their potential, build confidence, explore STEM careers, and develop the skills needed to thrive in spaces where their voices and representation are still growing.

Our vision is a future where African American girls don’t have to wonder whether they belong in STEM or aerospace—they know they do.
We are working toward a community where every girl has access to the mentorship, education, experiences, and resources she needs to pursue her goals. And we’re building a stronger network of support for parents and families along the way.
As G.E.M.S. grows, our vision expands beyond STEM programs. We aim to provide homework support, after-school and summer meal programs, textbooks and school supplies, financial assistance, and everyday resources that help families thrive.
Because when girls are given the opportunity to succeed, they don’t just change their own future—they help change the future for those who come after them.
